5098ORDINAL. ?CE NO.-5098 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE BOARD OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS TO PURCHASE CERTh`IN MOTOR EQUIPMENT, APPROPRIATING THE FUNDS THEREFOR, DECLARING AN ELiERGENCY, AnD FOR OTHER PURPOSES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK: Section 1. That the Board of Public Affairs of the said City is hereby authorized to advertise for bids and let a contract for the purchase of motor equipment as follows: 6 two —door sedans or coaches or regular sedans and four motorcycles for the police departrt;ent. Also two 1? ton trucks for street cleaning department, such old equipment being used in exchange as may be deemed advisable. Section 2. That the sum of $7,000.00 or so much thereof as may be necessary is hereby appropriated from the General and Auto Funds of the City to pay same, and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby directed to issue the City's warrants payable to proper parties for amount required of such maturities as may be deemed for the best interest of the City, said warrants for police equipment to be drawn against General Fund, and Street cleaning equipment against Auto or Street Fund. Section 3. It being necessary for the health, peace, and safety of the community that this ordinance be adopted im!,.ediately in order that sufficient police protection bd given the citizens of Little Rock to insure the safety of said citizens and to further insure the safety of persons travelling over the streets of Little Rock, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the date of its passage. 11 Passed: December 12, 1933 Attest: ity C rk Approved: IMayor.
