AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUPERINTENDENT OF PUBLIC
WORKS TO ERECT A TWO STORY STRUCTURE FOR THE HOUSING OF FIRE APPARATUS
AND REPAIR SHOP IN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK; APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF
$12,000.00; AUTHORIZING THE BOARD OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS TO ADVERTISE FOR
BIDS AND EXECUTE CONTRACTS FOR THE PURCHASE OF MATERIALS NECESSARY
THEREFOR AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK:
Section 1. That the Superintendent of Public Works be
and he is hereby authorized and directed to proceed with the erection
and construction of a two story structure for the housing of fire
apparatus and repair shop on the property owned by the City of Little
Rock at the Southeast corner of Garland Avenue and Arch Street in
accordance with the plans and specifications of such structure now
on file in the office of the Superintendent of Public Works.
Section 2. The sum of $12,000.00, the estimated cost
of the material therefor, or so much thereof Ps may be necessary is
hereby a,?propriated from the Fire Equipment account of the Airport,
Fire Equipment and Hospital Bond Fund and the Mayor and City Clerk
are hereby authorized and directed to issue the City's warrants
drawn upon said fund in payment of the cost of material for said
building.
Section 3. The Board of Public Affairs is hereby
authorized to advertise for bids and to let contracts for the
purchase of any materials that it may be necessary to purchase in
the construction of said building in_accordance with the requisition
of the Superintendent of Public Works.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be in force and take
effect from and after the date of its passage.
