BE IT ORDAINED BY TPE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS
SECTION 1. From and after the passage of this ordinance Section 1 of
Ordinance Number 4052, passed and approved June 28, 1926, same being Section 1215
Briclahouse & Castle's Digest of the Ordinances of the City of Little Rock, is
hereby amended to read as follows:
SECTION 2. When any owner of any motor vehicle subject to the payment cf
a license fee under sections 1206 to 1213 shall fail to pay the same when due on
the let day of May of each year, then for each ten days or fractional part of ten
' days after the let day of May of each year in the payment of the same there shall
be added to said license fee the sum of One Dollar ($1.00) as penalty; the pay-
ment of such penalty shall be enforced in the same manner as the payment of said
license fee; provided, that the total amount of any penalty shall never exceed the
original amount of the license fee.
SECTION 3. Whereas, there are numerous persons unable to pay the penalty
of Two Dollars ($2.00) on their automobile license tax and, whereas, this would be
for the benefit of the peace, health and safety and of peace of mind to the citi-
zens of the City of Little Rock, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this
ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, and appro-
val.
