5246ORDINANCE NO. ,_2z X AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE SALE AT RETAIL OF FRUIT, VEGETABLES, FISH, EGGS, POULTRY, PRODUCE AN`D /OR OTHER PROVISIONS WITHIN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK VTHERE ANY OR ALL OF SUCH ARTICLES OR PROVI- SIONS HAVE BEEN °OUGHT FOR RETAIL TO BE A PRIVILEGE; FIXING A LICE'S ?SE THEREFOR, AND FOR OTHER PUB70SES BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF -THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS . SECTION 1. That the sale at retail of fruit, vegetables, fish, eggs, poultry, produce and /or other provisions, which have been bought the purpose of retail, is a privilege and when exercised within the city limits of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, any person, firm or corporation so exercising such privilege shall secure a license therefor. SECTION 2. Before exercising such privilege any person, firm or corporation shall make application to the City Collector and with such application shall furnish the Said City Collector the following information: (1) Name (2) Address (3) Kind of Conveyance to be used in said business with the State license number and the make and tonnage of said truck or car or conveyance. SECTION 3. The license herein provided for shall be for the calendar year beginning January 13, and expiring December 31st and for such license the City Collector shall receive, and any person, firm or corporation desiring to engage in such business shall pay a license fee as follows: (1) Truck and /or automobile, whether truck or pleasure car the sum of Fifteen Dollars (;15.00) per year. (2) Push cart the sum of Five Dollars (,;5.00) per year. (3) And the sale of such articles in baskets and /or buckets the sum of Two Dollars Fifty Cents 02.50) per year. SECTION 4. The City Collector shall have the power at his dis- cretion to issue such licenses on a semi- annual basis. SECTION 5. Any person, firm or corporation making any sale or sales of produce, poultry, eggs, fruits, vegetables, fish and /or other provisions without first securing from the City Collector a proper license therefor, as herein provided shall be deemed guilty of a mis- demeanor and upon conviction of the first offense shall be subject to a fine of Five Dollars (45.00); upon conviction of a second offense shall be fined in the sum of Ten Dollars ( ' 10.00); upon conviction of a third offense the fine shall be in the sum of Twenty -five Dollars ($25.00).
