AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CREATION OF A MUNICIPAL SEWER
COMI11ITTEE UNDER THE TERMS OF ACT NO. 132 OF THE ACTS OF THE
GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF 1933 AND THE ACTS AMENDATORY THEREOF;
CREATING SUCH COMM1IT'EE; PROVIDING FOR AND DESIGNATING THE
MEMBERSHIP OF SUCH CON1'ITTEE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS
Section 1. That whereas the City Council of the City of Little
Rock, Arkansas deems it necessary and expedient that prompt
action be taken to provide for the City of Little Rock a proper
end adequate sewerage system, a Municipal Sewer Committee is
hereby authorized and created under the terms of Act No. 132 of
the Acts of the General Assembly of 1933 and the Acts amendatory
thereof.
Section 2. Said Committee upon qualification is hereby empow-
ered to have and exercise all of the right and duties conferred
by the provisions of said Act No. 132 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of 1933 and the Acts amendatory thereof.
Section 3. Said Committee shall be composed of the Board of
Public Affairs and the Chairman of the Finance Committee *<It��9�N�R
Said Committee is herein specifically authorized to proceed
to make a contingent contract with a competent engineer or
engineers for the preparation of such plans and specifications
as may be necessary for the organization and completion of said
sewer project for the City of Little Rock, and for the ifrork of
supervising the construction of said sewer system. Said project
shall include such a sewef system as in the judgment of the
Sewer Committee shall be adequate and proper for the City of
Little Rock. It is understood, however, that said Committee shall
not obligate the City for the payment of any money on any
contract unless said project is approved. by the City Council.
Section 4. Whereas, the construction of a proper and adequate
sewer system for the City of Little Rock, Arkansas is of great
importance to the health of the citizens of Little Rock, an
emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance shall
be in full force andeffect from and after its pasG_ge and approval.
