AN ORI)IiIANCE A13THORIZING THE MAYOR AIM CITY CLERK TO LEASE CERTAIN PROPERTY
FOR PUBLIC PLAY GROUND PURPOSES, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
WHEREAS, There has been an association perfected known as Hillcrest Play
Grounds Association; and,
WHEREAS, It is the desire of said association to establish a playground
on Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 of Block 10, Hillcrest Addition to the City of
Little Rock; and,
WHEREAS, said property is owned by Marion Tasson, State Bank Commissioner,
in charge of the American Exchange Trust Company, Insolvent; and,
WHEREAS, Said association desires to secure FERA labor for the purpose cf
putting; said grounds in a usable condition for playground purposes; and,
WHEREAS, FERA labor can be obtained only by this property being leased to
the City of Little Rock
Now, Therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS
SECTICIT 1. That the Mayor and City Clerk be, and the same hereby are,
authorized to enter into a lease agreement by and between the City of Little Rock
and Marion Wasson, State Bank Corrunissioner, in charge of the American Exchange
Trust Company, Insolvent, for a lease for a period of one (1) year covering Lots
1, 2. 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 of Block 10, Hillcrest Addition to the City of Little Rock.
SECTION 2. The consideration for the leasing of this property shall be
the sure of One Dollar ($1.00) per annum to be paid to said Marion Wasson as State
Bank Commissicner in charge of the American Exchange Trust Company, Insolvent.
SECTION 3. Whereas, it will be for the benefit of the peace, health,
safety and public welfare of the citizens of the City of Little Rock that the
aforesaid playground be perfected, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and
this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and
app roval.
