5274ORDINANCE No. 52 ?4 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR A LEk E BY THE CI1'Y OF LITTLE ROCK TO THE J. R. GROBIMR MIBER COMPANY OF A POR- TION OF AN ALLEY IN BLOCK 9, 1VTORTHEN & BRO1`1NIS ADDITION TO LITTLE ROCK. V,MREAS, J. R. Grobmyer Lumber Company has made appli- cation to the City Council to lease a portion of the alley in Block 9, ''lorthen w Brown's addition, and, `IHEREAS, after recommendation by its Street Committee that said lease be granted, and after due consideration by the City Council, the City Council is of opinion that said application should be granted and said lease be executed by the City. THEREFORE, it is now ordained by the City Council of Little Rock, Arkansas. Section 1. The Mlayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed for and in behalf of and in the name of the City of Little Rock to execute and deliver to J. R. Grobmyer, (doing business as the J. R. Grobmyer Lumber Company) a lease on the following described property: A part of tMe alley in Block 9, I o rthen & Brown's Addition, more particularly described as follows: The alley for its full width beginning at the west right of way line of the Missouri Pacific Railroad on the east side of said block and running west 100 feet; being the alley sho,:,m on the original plat of said addition in the rear of and north of Lots 13 and 14, Block 9. Wopthen a, Brown's Addition to Little mock. Said lease to run for twenty -five years from August 1, 1935, at an annual rental of 41.00 per year. Section 2. That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed and it is hereby ascer- tained and declared that the improvements contemplated by the lessee to be placed on said leased property will require the employment of labor and use of materials, and will better enable the lessee to comply with his contracts to furnish material to yu'PA and R A projects, thus assisting finan- cial recovery, an emergency is declared to exist and it is found that it is necessary for the public peace, health and safety for this ordinance to go into immediate opera- tion; therefore, this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
