AN ORDINANCE DLFINIvG TH E WIDTH
OF PAVEI,,FENT ON SOUTH BROAIY IAY FROM THE NORTH LIT4 OF LOT 1, BLOCK 4,
E. W. GIBBS ADDITION TO THE CENTER LINE OF ROOSEVELT BOULEVARD IN THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
WHEREAS, the Arkansas State Highway Comrlission will widen
and improve the pavement on South Broadway between 22d Street and
Roosevelt Boulevard.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1- From and after the passage of this ordinance the
width of pavement between the North line of Lot 1, Block 4 of E. 's7.
Gibbs Addition and the center line of Roosevelt Boulevard shall be
forty -two (42) feet, measured from face of curb to face of curb, and
in measuring and .fixing the width of pavement the measurement of the
width of pavement shall be taken from the existing west curb face.
Section 2:- That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 3: WHEREAS, the building of Roosevelt Boulevard
has turned an unexpected amount of traffic on Broadway, which volume
of traffic constitutes a ? . enace to the public safety, convenience, and
welfare, whicxi,,menace:demands that the width of pavement on South
Broadway be changed to the width herein set forth and dedicated, an
emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance being necessary
for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an
emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall take
effect and shall be in full force from and after its passage and
public issue.
Passed and approved by vote of 16 members of the City Council on
this the 27th day of March _ 1936.
