AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE APP OPRIATION OF FIVE
HUNDRED DOLLARS FROM THE GEN L-RAL FUND OF THE C ITY OF
LITTLE ROCK FOR THE PURPOSE OF SETTLING DAMAGES SUF-
FERED BY MR AND MRS C. L. McCARTHY; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES
WHEREAS, There occurred a collision at the intersec-
tion of Twelfth and Scott :streets between a car driven by
Herron Brouse and a Little Rock Fire Department truck driven
by R. J. Harrison; and,
WHEREAS, C. L. McCarthy's leg was broken and fWrs. Fc-
Carthy was so seriously injured that she remained in a hospi-
tal for a long period of time; and,
7HEREAS, The said automobile belonging to the ,icCarthys
and valued at One Hundred Twenty -five ($125.00) Dollars was com-
pletely demolished; and,
THEREAS, Said McCarthys' claim to have expended the sum
of Seven Hundred Seventy -three Dollars _ninety -one Cents (5773.91)
for medical care and attention; and,
HEREAS, The claim has been filed in the sum of Seven
Hundred Seventy -three Dollars Ninety -one Cents (=11'773.91) against
the City of Little "hock and has been referred to the leinance
Committee of said City; and,
WHEREAS, said Committee has aut horized a payment of
Five Hundred (141560.00) Dollars in full and final settlement of
all claims of C. L. McCarthy and 'airs. C. L. :McCarthy, for all
property damage and /or damages caused by personal injury to
either of said parties.
NOW, THEREFORE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COU'N'CIL OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS
UECTION 1. There is hereby approgiated out of the
General Fund of the City of Little hock the sum of Five Hundred
(� "500.00) Dollars to be paid to dr. and Mrs. 0. L. dcCarthy
upon their executing a full and complete release for any damages,
for personal injury or property damage, suffered by them in the
accident described in the preamble of this ordinance, in full and

complete settlement of said damages of whatever kind or character
suffered by them.
SECTION 2. Mr. and %Irs. C. L. -cCarthy having expended
their own funds and the re- payment to them of said amount being
necessary for their peace, health andsafety, an emergency is here-
by declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage and approval.
