AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE SALARY SCHEDULE OF ALL OF
THE EMPLOYEES OF THE LITTLE ROCK POLICE DEPARTMENT
AS OF FEBRUARY 1, 1937; REPEALI11a ALL ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEPE.`ITH; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

SECTION 1. In order to better promote efficiency in
the police and detective departments of the City of Little Rock,
it is hereby ordained that all employees of the Little Rock
Police Department and detective department stall be graded by
the length of service that such employees have served in the
respective departments, and such divisions shall be as follows:
(1) Employees who have served one (1) year or
less shall be known as "probation men".
(2) Those ..-rho have served two (2) years shall be
:mown as "two -year men ".
(3) Those who have served three (3) years shall be
kno�an as "three -year men ".
(4) Those who have served four (4) years shall be
known as "four -year men ".
(5) Those aho have served five (5) fears or longer
shall be known as "five -year men".

SECTION 3. Salary schedules herein provided shall
be effective as of February 1, 1937.
LCTIOII 4. It is hereby ordained that the Police
and > etective Departments shall have the following officers
of the respective departments:

Chief of Police, Chief of Detectives, Captain of Police, 3-uper-
intendent of Bureau of Identification, Lieutenant of Police,
Sergeant of Police, Detective, ti�'ecretary to Chief of Police,
Record Clerk in Chief of Detective's Office, Cook, radio Chief
Operator and Operator.

SECTIO 1 6. '. hereas it is necessary, in order to pre-
pare the budget for the City of Kittle Hock for the ensuing fiscal
year, that this ordinance become effective immediately, an emer-
gency is, therefore, hereby declared to exist and this ordinance
is found to be necessary for the immediate preservation of the
-public -peace, health and safety and s me shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passar -e and approval.
