5435ORDINANCE NO. 5435 AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE SALARY SCHEDULE OF ALL OF THE EMPLOYEES OF THE LITTLE ROCK POLICE DEP- ARTMENT AS OF FEBRUARY 1, 1937; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS. SECTION 1. In order to better promote eff- iciency in the police and detective departments of the City of Little Rock, it is hereby ordained that all employees of the Little Rock Police Department and detective department shall be gr„ded by the length of service that such employees have served in the res- pective departments, and such divisions shall be as follows: (1) Employees who have served one (1) year or less shall be known as "probation Men". (2) Those who have served more than one (1) year and less than two (2) years shall be known as "two -year men ". (3) Those who have served more than Two (2) years and less than (3) years shall be known as "three- year men ". (4) Those who have served more than Three (3) years and less than (4) years shall be known as "four -year men ". SECTION 2. Salary schedules for the class- ification hereinabove set out shall be not to exceed the respective amounts as follows: (1) Probation men (2 ) Two -Year Men (3 ) Three --year men (4) Four -year men $96.25 per Mo. 106.75 per Mo. 108.75 per Mo. 111.75 per Mo. (5) Those who have served more than Four (4) years shall receive not to exceed ----------- - - ---- ---116, ?5 per Mo. SECTION 3. Salary schedules herein provided shall be effective as of February 1, 1937. ( 2 ) SECTION 4. It is hereby ordained that the Police and Detective Departments shall have the following officers of the respective departments: Chief of Police, Asstt. Chief of Police, Chief of Detectives, Captain of Police, Superintendent of Bureau of Identification, Lieutenant of Police, Sergeant of Police, Detective, Secretary to Chief of Police, Record Clerk in Chief of Detective's office, Cook, radio Chief Operator and Operator. SECTION 5. The officers provided for in Section 4 herein shall receive not to exceed the following respective salaries which shall be effective as of February 1, 1937. Chief of Police $228,50 Plus Car Expense 50,00 Asst. Chief of Police 176.75 Chief of Detectives 201.75 Captain of Police 151.75 Superintendent of Bureau of Identification 131,75 Lieutenant of Police 136.75 Sergeant of Police 126,75 Detective 126.75 Secretaryi� Chief of Police 111.75 (Who shall not be affected by the number of years of service) Record Clerk in Chief of Detective's office 84.25 Radio Division, Chief operator 132.00 a a operator 111.75 (Who shall not be affected by the number of years of service) Cook 95.00 (Who shall not be affected by the number of years of service) SECTION 6. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith arehereby repealed. SECTION 7. Whereas it is necessary, in order to prepare the budget for the City of Little Rock for the ensuing fiscal year, that this ordinance become effective immediately, an emergency is, therefore, hereby declared to exist and this ordinance is found to be necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety and same shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
