54465 -`( t( 4, ORDINANCE N0. 5446 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 4559 PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF THE INSPECTOR OF y4EIGHTS AND MEASURES BY THE CITY COLLECTOR; PROVIDING FOR THE DAILY SETTLEMENT OF ALL COLLECTIONS MADE BY THE INSPECTOR; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. Section 1 of Ordinance No. 4559 is here- by repealed in its entirety, and in lieu thereof is inserted the following section: "Immediately upon the passage and approval of this ordinance, the City Collector of the City of Little Rock shall appoint a suitable person to serve as inspector of weights and which appointment shall be confirmed by the City Council, measures,/ Said inspector shall operate under the supervision of the City Collector, and it shall be the duty of said in- spector to enforce all laws and regulations relating to the inspection of weights and measures in use in the City of Little Rock. Said inspector shall also collect the fees and service charges for his service in accordance with ordinances hereto- fore enacted, and said inspector shall make a daily settlement with the City Collector for all collections made; and he shall issue receipts and make reports on such forms as are prescribed by the City Collector." SECTION 2. WHEREAS, the proper inspection of weights and measures is of vital importance to the people of Little Rock, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this ordinance is found to be necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, and safety, and the same shall be in force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
