5508ORDINANCE NO. 5508. AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE RATE OF TAXATICN OF PROPERTY FOR CITY PURPOSES FOR THE YEAR 1937 FOR THE GENERAL FUND; FOUR AND ONE -HALF PER CENT BOND AND INTEREST FUND, AND AIRPORT, FIRE EQUIPMENT AND HOSPITAL ANNEX BOND AND INTEREST FUND; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: Section 1. That the rate of taxation on real and persoba 1 property in the City of Little Rock for certain City purposes for the year 1937, be and the same is hereby fixed and established and levied as follows: For Genera? purposes in order to carry on the affairs of the City Government under Section 4, Article 12, of the Constitution of 1874, there is hereby levied a tax of Five (5) mills. For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the City of Little Rock as may be required in the Funding Bond issue of May 1st, 1925, and refunding issue of November lst, 1935, a tax of Three (3) mills for the year 1937 is hereby levied; and Ordinance No. 3799 is hereby amended only insofar as to apply to levy for the year 1937. For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the City of Little Rock as may be required in the Airport, Fire Equipment and Hospital Annex Bond issue of November 1st, 1929: a tax of One and one -tenth (1 1 /10) mills for the year 1937 is hereby levied. Section 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to transmit a certified copy of this ordinance to the County Clerk of Pulaski County to the end that the taxes herein recited may be extended on the Tax Books of Pulaski County and collected annually along with the other taxes for the year 1937• Section 3. Action under the terms of this ordinance is immediately necessary if the public health program, policy and fire protection be not seriously curtailed, and as such curtailment would result in endangering the health, lives and property ofthe citizens of Little Rock, therefore an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the date of its passage.
