ORDINANCE N0, 551q.
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZII1G AND DIRECTING THE BOARD OF
PUBLIC AFFAIRS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS TO ENTER
INTO AN AGRE ENT WITH THE WINSTON CYCLE COMPANY FOR THE LEASE
OF, OR LEASE AND PURCHASE OF, TEN (10 ) MOTORCYCLES FOR USE IN
THE POLICE DEPARTMENT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The Board of Public Affairs of the City of
Little Rock, Arkansas is hereby authorized and directed to enter
into an agreement with the Winston Cycle Company for the furnishing
of ten (10) motorcycles, properly equipped, and each with short gave
radio receiving sets, for use in the Police Department of said City.
Section 2. The Board of Public Affairs is hereby authorized
and directed to enter into any such lease agreement or lease and
purchase agreement with the Winston Cycle Company for the payment
of said motorcycles and equipment as said Board may deem for the
best interests of the City.
Section 3. Whereas, the motorcycles now used by the Little
Rock Police Department are in a bad state of repair and, whereas, it
is necessary that said motorcycles be immediately replaced so that
the efficiency of the Little Rock Police Department will not be
impaired, and whereas, it is for the interest of the peace, health
and safety of the citizens o-' the City that these motorcycles and
equipment be immediately furnished, an emergency is hereby declared
to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and approval.
