5529�• to k ORDINANCE N0. 5529• AN CRDINi ANCE FIXING THE SALARIES OF TIE CIVIL SLRVICE COWISSICNERS CF TIM CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, PRCVIDING FOR A PERSCNNEL OFFICER FCR SAID COh7AtII SIONERS, FOR GyMRAL EXPENSES OF SAID CCbQMISSICN, AND FOR OTHER PURPCa-Z. Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas: SECTION 1. The salaries of the Civil Service Com- missioners of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, created by Act No. 322 of the Acts of the General Assembly of the State of Arkansas for the year 1937, are hereby fixed at X40.00 Der month beginning January 1, 1938, and payable at the same time and in the same manner as members of the City Council are now paid. SECTION 2. January 1, 1938 the Commission is authorized to employ one personnel officer at a salary of $125.00 Der month, to be paid by the City of Little Rock at the same time and in the same manner as other employees of the City of Little Rock who draw the same, or similar salaries. The said personnel officer shall be under the exclusive supervision of the Civil Service Commission, shall serve at the will of the Corrsnission, and shall do and perform such duties as may be prescribed by it. SECTION 3. At the discretion of the Corr-iaion, it is authorized to rent office space not tc exceed in cost the sum of 425.00 per month, and to charge the same to the City of Little Rock. It is further authorized to make requisition on the City of Little Rock for necessary office equipment and supplies. -2- SECTION 4. It being ascertained and found that in order for the Uivil Service Commission to properly function, it is necessary for the members therecf to receive -Qay for their services, to have the assistance of a personnel officer and to have necessary office space, and office supplies and equipment, and that the proper operation of said Commission is necessary and for the benefit of the public peace, health and safety of the City of Little Rock, an emergency is here- by declared to exist, and this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after' l .� PASSED: December 20, 1937.
