AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE RATE OF TAXATION OF PROPERTY FOR CITY
PURPOSES FOR THE YEAR 1939 FOR THE GENERAL FUND; FOUR AND ONE -HALF
PER CENT BOND AND INTEREST FUND; AIRPORT, FIRE EQUIPMENT AND HOSPITAL
ANNEX BOND AND INTEREST FUND; MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM: BOND FUND; LIBRARY
ANNEX BOND FUND, AND NEGRO PARK BOND FUND; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the rate of taxation on real and personal
in the City of Little Rock for certain City purposes for the
. 4, {jpo,And the same Is hereby fixed and established and levied:
as follows's
y For Goneral purposes in order to carry on the affairs of the
i t .tcernment under Section 4, Article 12, of the Constitution
of-11$74, there is hereby levied a tax of Five (5) mills.
For the kka purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the City
of Little Rock as may be required in the Funding Bond issue of
M y let, 1925, and refunding issue of November let, 1935, a tax
of three (3) mills for the year 1939 is hereby levied; and
Ordinance No. 3799 is hereby amended only insofar as to apply
to levy for the year 1939:
For the purpose of paying Bondsand Interest of the City of
Little Rock as may be required in the Airport, Fire Equipment
and Hospital Annex Bond issue of November let, 1929, a tax of
One and one -tenth (1 1/10) mills for the year 1939 is hereby
levied.
For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the City of
Little Rock as may be required in the Municipal Auditorium

For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the City of
Little Rock as may be required in the Library Annex Bond issue
of February let, 1937, a tax of Ten Hundredths (.10) of a
mill for the year 1939 is hereby, levied.
For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the City of
Little Rock as may be required in the Negro Park Bond issue
of February 1st, 1937, a tax of Five Hundredths (.05) of a
mill for the year 1939 is hereby levied.
Section 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to transmit
a certified copy of this ordinance to the County Clerk of Pulaski
County to the end that the taxes herein recited may be extended on
the Tax Books of Pulaski County and collected annually along "with

Section 3. Astion under the terms of this ordinance is
Immediately necessary if the public health program, policy and
protection be not seriously curtailed, and as such curtailment
would result in endangering the health, lives and property of the
citizens of Little Rock, therefore an emergency is hereby declared
to exist and this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and. after the date of its passage.
