ORDINANCE # 5761
AN ORDINANCE DECLARING CERTAIN PROPERTY WITHIN
THE CITY OF LITTLE SOCK TO BE A NUISANCE,
vRDERING ITS REMOVAL; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS
SECTION 1. That whereas, the owner of the following
described property to -wit:
510 North Monroe Street House
has allowed the building located on said property to deteriorate
to the extent that said building has been found by the health
officer of the Little Rock City Council to be hazardous in that
it constitutes a fire hazard, and in addition is dangerous to
the life and limb of the public; and same is hereby declared to be
a nuisance. And the Chief of Police is hereby instructed to serve
the owner of said piece of property with a copy of this Ordinance
and notify said owner that the respective piece of property must
either be torn down and removed or remodeled within Thirty (30)
days from the date hereof.
ECTION 2. In the event the owner of said piece of
property cannot be located, the Chief or Police is instructed to
serve said notice by posting a copy of this Ordinance on the front
door of said building, and report such action to the Fire Committee
of the City Council.
SECTION 3. The owner of the within described property
failing or refusing to conform to the provisions of the Ordinance
shall be deemed guilty of misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof
in*the Little Rock Municipal Court shall be fined in any sum not
less than Twenty -five Dollars (t25.00) nor more than Three Hundred
Dollars ($300.00).
SECTION 4. The City Attorney is hereby authorized and
instructed to proceed to take all necessary court action in order
to secure the removal of the property herein declared to be a
nuisance if same is not removed or remodeled within thirty (30)
days of the date hereof.

SECTION 5. Due to the constant fire hazard and the
danger that this Niece of property presents to the public safety,
an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance being
necessary for the immediate preservation of the public health,
peace, and safety, and the same shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and a-cproval.
