AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE BUSINESS OF SELLING ANY FORM
OF AIR CONDITIONING UNIT WITHIN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK
TO BE A PRIVILEGE; FIXING A PRIVILEGE TAX THEREFOR; PRO-
VIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION HEREOF; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS"
SECTION 1. The business of selling or offering for sale
any form of air conditioning unit within the City of Little Rock
is hereby declared to be a privilege, and for the exercise of
such privilege, any person, firm, or corporation engaged in
who do not pay a gross stock tax
such business/ shall pay an annual privilege tax in the sum of
Fifty Dollars ($50.00). Said amount shall be payable semi-
annually, the first payment of Twenty -five Dollars ($25.00)* to
be due and payable -on July 15, 1939," and subsequent payments
to be made on January 15 and July 15 of each year.
SECTION 2. Any person, firm, or corporation carrying on
a said business without the payment of said tax shall be deemed
guilty of. a misdemeanor and upon conviction in the Little Rock
Municipal Court shall be fined in any sum not less than Twenty-

five Dollars ($25.00) nor more than One Hundred Dollars ($100.).,
SECTION 3. WHEREAS; the privilege tax is collected on all
business operations within the City of Little Rock and no pri-
vilege tax is provided for the business hereinabove set out,
an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance is
found to be necessary for the immediate preservation of the
public peace, health, and safety, and the same shall be in full
force and effect from and after its passage, approval, and pub-
lieation.
