5767U ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR AN ANNUAL LICENSE TAX FOR DOGS. -KEPT WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK; PROVIDING VACCINATION OF DOGS FOR RABIES; PRO- VIDING ALL DOGS MUST HAVE COLLARS; PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF THE ORDINANCE ; AND FOR OTHER PUR- POSES BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS SECTION 1. From and after the passage and approval of this i ordinance, each person, firm, or corporation owning and /or keep- ing a dog or dogs within the City limits of the City of Little Rock shall pay an an-,:ual license tax for each dog in the amount of Two Dollars ($2.00) per annum, said tax being due and payable on the f l e gi day of a-A n e' of each year. Upon the payment of said license fee, the owner or keeper cf. any dog shall be entitled to have said dog vaccinated against rabies in the City Hall. If the owner or keeper of any dog or 'l dogs desires to have said dog or dogs vaccinated against rabies In the place where said dog or dogs are kept or at any place or City Pound .other than the City Haly, an additional fee of Fifty cents (.50) per dog shall be due and payable. SECTION 2. Every dog kept within the City limits of the City of Little Rock must have and wear a collar of such type that the City license tax tag and the rabies vaccination tag may be attached to said collar. j SECTION 3. It shall be unlawful for any dog to be kept !!� I within the City limits of the City of Little Rock unless s f dog is wearing a collar which has the current City license tax tag and rabies vaccination tag on said collar. SECTION 4. Any person, firm, or corporation keeping any dog in violation of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction in the Little Rock Municipal Court shall be fined in any sum not less than Two Dollars ($2.00) nor more than Ten Dollars ($10.00). SECTION 5. iiHEREAS, it is necessary to protect the citi- I wens of the City of Little Rock against the running at large of dogs which might be infected with rabies, an emergency is hereby found to exist and this Urdinance is declared to be necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, and safety, and the same shall be in full force and affect from and after its passage, approval, and publication.
