5793ORDINANCE # 5793 AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR THE POSITIONS OF A CITY HEALTH OFFICER, A LABORATORY TECHNICIAN ONE (1) CHIEF PUBLIC HEALTH NURSE, AND FIVE (5� PUBLIC HEALTH NURSES; FIXING THE SALARIES AND .. TRAVELING EXPENSES THEREOF; AND FOR OTHER FUR - POSES BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS SECTION 1. There is hereby created the positions of City Health Officer, One (1) Laboratory Technician, One (1) Chief Public Health Nurse, and Five (5) Public Health Nurses. SECTION 2. The City Health Officer shall receive the salary of One Thousand, Three Hundred Dollars ($1,300.00) per year; the-Laboratory Technician shall receive the salary of One Thousand, Two Hundred Dollars ($1,200.00) per year; the Chief Public Health Nurse shall receive the salary of One Thousand, Five Hundred Dollars ($1,500.00) per year; two (2) Public Health Nurses shall receive the salary of One Thousand, Two Hundred Dollars ($1,200.00) per year each; and three (3) Public Health Nurses shall receive the salary of Nine Hundred Dollars ($900) per year each. SECTION 3. The Laboratory Technician, the Chief Pub- lie Health Nurse, and the Public Health Nurses must meet with the qualifications to be prescribed by the City Health Officer and the Mayor, and shall work under the supervision and direc- tion of the City Health Officer. SECTION 4. Those employed in the positions created herein whose duties necessitate the operation of an automobile shall be allowed the sum of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) per month for traveling expenses where their personal automobiles are used, which sum shall include all expenses for the operation, upkeep, and depreciation of said automobile. SECTION 5. WHEREAS; many serious conditions exist within the City of Little Rock requiring the services of the employees provided for herein in the protection of the public health, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordi- - 2 - dance is found to be necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, and safety, and the same shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and appro- Val.
