ORDINANCE N0. 5795
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 31, SUBSECTION 5 OF ORDINANCE
NO. 4866, KNOWN AS THE BUILDING CODE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. Section 31, subsection 5 of Ordinance No. 4,966

paragraph shall be designated as (M) which shall read as follows:
(M). Filling Station buildings occupied exclusively as
such and complying with the following limitations
may be of all metal of not less than Fourteen gauge
metal or incombustible construction porcelain surfaced.
1. Area shall not exceed 3,300 square feet.
2. Height shall not exceed one (1) story.
3. No volatile or flammable liquids or explosives shall be
stored, handled, or dispensed in the building.
4. Floors shall be incombustible.
5. No automotive repair work shall be done inside the
building other than tire repairs or washing and greasing.
6. Structure shall not be erected within twenty (20) feet
of any masonry structure or fifty (50) feet of any frame
structure.

SECTION 2. WHEREAS; this ordinance is calculated to prevent
the erection of buildings creating fire hazards, an emergency is hereby
declared to exist and this ordinance is found to be necessary for the
Immediate preservation of the public peace, health, and safety, and the
same shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and
approval.
