AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND THE BOARD OF PUBLIC AF-
FAIRS TO MAPLOY AN ARCHITECT TO PREPARE PLANS AND SPECIFICA-
TIONS FOR REMODELLING A PORTION OF THE CITY HALL INTO OFFICE
SPACE SUITABLE FOR HOUSING THE TRAFFIC BUREAU; AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR AND THE BOARD OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS TO ADVERTISE FOR AND RE-
CEIVE BIDS FOR THE RE11ODELLING OF SAID SPACE AND TO MAKE THE
NECESSARY CONTRACTS THEREFOR; TO ADVERTISE FOR AND RECEIVE BIDS
FOR SUFFICIENT STEEL FILING EQUIP1,1ENT NECESSARY FOR EQUIPPING

f SECTION 1. The Mayor and the Board of Public Affairs are
hereby authorized and directed to employ an architect to p re-
pare plans and specifications for the remodelling of a portion
of the City Hall building, sufficient to house the new Traffic

Bureau.
The Mayor and the Board of Public Affairs are hereby fur-
ther authorized and directed to:

1 1, Advertisefor and receive bids for the construction

or alteration of that portion of the City Hall build -
t' ing to be used for the said Traffic Bureau, at a
cost not to exceed Vight Hundred Dollars ($500.00)
and to award the said contract to the lowest and
most responsible bidder.
2. Advertise for and receive bids for the purchase of
sufficient steel filing equipment of the kind and
nature necessary for the equipment of the Traffic
Bureau.
SECTION 2. VMREAS; the immediate operation of the Traffic
Bureau is necessary for the safety of the citizens of Little
Rock.and an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordi-
nance is found to be necessary for the immediate protection of
the public peace, health and safety and the same shall be in
full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
