5891s 0 R D I N A N C E N 0. 221 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDIEG THAT THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK; BY ITS iiAYOR AND CLERK, SHALL ENTER INTO A LEASE AGREEMENT VtITH THE LITTLE ROCK SPECIAL SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR CERTAIN PORTIONS OF THE MUNICIPAL HANGAR AT THE LITTLE ROCK MUNICIPAL AIRPORT AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES WHEREAS the Little Rock Special School District is par- „ tioipating in the Civilian Pilot Training Program under the aus- pices of the Civil Aeronautics Authority whereby students of the Little hock Junior College are taught to fly aircraft and in order to participate in the said Civilian Pilot Training Program to the extent of securing an advanced flying school for the stu- dents of the Junior College it is necessary that the Little Rock Special School District have a lease on sufficient space in.the Municipal Hangar at the Airport for a repair and maintenance shop, for the storage of two aircraft while being repaired or serviced and for storage space for those aircraft required by the Civil Aer=6nautj_a,8 'Authority, and ,1 WHEREAS, by procuring participation in the advanced flying school of the Civilian Pilot Training Program the Little Rock Special School District will use aircraft of high horsepower as well as those of low horsepower which are now used in the primary flying school, which aircraft will use aviation fuel in large quantities, and ' WHEREAS the City of Little 1 ock would benefit financially and oil from the increased sale of gasoline /to the Little Rock Special i hopI Djstric,t and the said District has agreed to purohase -all 1 ,.T "0 gasolkne/used in aircraft participating in the Civilian Pilot Training Program. NOVI THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: Section 1. f1) That the City of Little Rock shall enter into a lease with the Little Rock Special School District for that space in the lean -to on the west side of the Municipal Hangar r i i 2 - in the Little Rock Municipal Airport except the space occupied by the men's toilet and shower,which space is designed for use as a repair shop and dope room and which is more particularly desoribed as a space in the form of a rectangle being one hundred sixty -four (164) feet long beginning at the south wall of the said Municipal Hangar and being twenty -one and one half (212) feet wide beginning at the west :call of the said Municipal Hangar, and (2) For enough space in the hangar proper as shall be necessary tos tore two aircraft while such aircraft are being ser- viced or repaired, and (3) So much space in the hangar proper as may be neces- sary to store that number of aircraft required of the School District by the Civil Aeronautics Authority for participation in the Civilian Pilot Training Program with the provision that at no , time shall the School be permitted �y r tted to store free of charge more than four aircraft. Section 2. That the Little Rock special School District shall have the exclusive right to do repair and maintenance work for hire at the Municipal Airport. Section 3• That the lease shall be for a term of one year from the 30th day of June, 1940, with an option to both parties to renew upon mutually agreeable terms at the expiration of the lease. Section 4. That the least shall recite a consideration of One Dollar 01.00) and the further consideration that the Little Rock Special School District shall purchase from the City all gaso- and oil line used in the aircraft which are used in the training under the Civilian Pilot Training erogram.
