AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE SALARIES OF THE WATER WORKS C01011ISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The Commissioners of the Water Works Commission
shall be paid monthly salaries on the last day of each and every month from
the funds in their hands derived from t e, loperation of the Little Rock
Municipal 'water ilorks beginning as of , 1940 as follows:
Chairman, $125.00; Vice- Chairna.n, $100.00; and Secretary, $100.00.
Section 2. It is hereby ascertained and determined by
the City Council that the City Water System has been operated by the
Board of Water Works Commissioners since November lst, 1937 without
compensation; that it is necessary under the present law that a Commission
continue to operate same, in order to comply there *ith and to insure the
proper operation and protection of said property and the health and sanita-
tion of the City. Therefore, an emergency exists and is hereby declared
and for the immediate preservation of the public health, peace and safety
this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its
passage.
