AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF TWO THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED
AND SIXTY FIVE DOLLARS ($20665) OUT OF THE AIRPORT CONSTRUCTION
FUND AND EARMARKING SAME TO BE USED IN THE PURCHASE OF CERTAIN
LANDS AND /OR THE RIGHT Cr WAY OVER SAME FOR THE PURPOSE OF
CONSTRUCTING AN OVERPASS OR VIADUCT OVER THE ROCK ISLAND TRACKS
NEAR EAST 27TH STREET IN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK.
BE IT CRDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY CF LITTLE RACK,
ARKANSAS:
SectloA I.
five dollars ($2,665) is hereby appropriated out of the Airport
Construction Fund of the City of Little Rock, and said' amount
is hereby earmarked for use in the purchase of certain real
property and/or the right of way over same for the purpose of
constructing an overpass or viaduct over the Rock Island tracks
near East 27th Street in the City of Little Rock.
Section 2. The funds appropriated by this ordinance shall
be used in the purchase of the fee simple title and /or the right
of way over a strip of land running in a westerly direction from
the south edge of the Little Rock Municipal Airport as now extended,
and corresponding approximately to an extension of Twenty - -fifth
Street in the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, if said Twenty -fifth
Street were extended.
Section j. Whereas, the interests of National Defense are of
major importance to every citizen of Little Rock, and, Whereas, the
Little Rock Municipal Airport is important in the scheme of National
Defense so that it is vital that the Municipal Airport be placed in
operation at the earliest possible moment, an emergency is hereby
declared to exist, and this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval.
