AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING STREET IMPROVE -
MENT DISTRICT NO. 558.
WHEREAS, parties claiming to be the owners of two- thirds in
assessed value of the property located within the territory herein -
. _f,ter described have filed a petition praying that an improvement
district be established for the purposes hereinafter set out; and,
WHEREAS, after due notice as required by law, the City Council
of theCity of Little Rock, Arkansas, has heard all parties desiring
to be heard, and has ascertained that said petition vas signed by
two - thirds in assessed value of the owners of real property within
said territory;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City
of LittleRock, Arkansas:
Section 1. There is hereby established an improvement district ,
embracing the following described property;
Beginning at theNortheast corner of Lot 18 Block 14,
of Neimeyer's Addition to the "ity of Little kock,Arkansas,
run West to the Northwest corner of Lot 4, Block 6, of
Wayman' s Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas;
thence in a Southwesterly direction across Cedar Street
to the Northeast corner of Lot 16, ''lock 3 of said Niemeyer's
Addition; thence West to the Northwest corner of Lot 9, Block
3, of said Niemeyer's Addition; thence in a Westerly direction
across Elm Street to the Northeast corner of Lot 7, Block 7,
of Sam W. Welch's Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arken-
sas; thence West to the Northwest corner of Lot 12, "lock 9
of said Sam W. Welch's Addition; thence Oouth to the Southwest
corner of Lot 1, Block 12, of said Sam W. Welch's Addition;
thence East to the Southeast corner of Lot 6, Block 14 of said
Sam W. Welch's Addition; thence in a Southeasterly direction
across hlm Street to the Southwest corner of Lot 6, block 4
of said Niemeyer's Addition; thence East to the Southeast corn-
of Lo t 19, Block 13 of said Niemeyer's Addition; thence
North to the point of beginning.
Said property within the improvement district hereby established
consists of the following described property:
Lots 9 to 16, inclusive, Block 3;
Lots 1 to 6, inclusive, and Lots 19 to 24, inclusive, Block 4;
Lots 1 to 6, inclusive, and Lots 19 and 20, Block 5;
Lots 13 to 16, inclusive, Block 6;
Lots 1 to 6, incll usive, and Lots 19 to 24, inclusive, Block 12;
Lots 1 to 6, inclusive, and Lots 19 to 24, inclusive, Block 13;
Lots 7 to 18, inclusive, Olock 14;
All in Niemeyer's Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas;

Lots 4, 5, 6, and 9, Block 6;

I The purpose of theimprovement district hereby established is
to drain, grade, curb, gutter, and pave the following described
streets, to-wit:

West twenty -third Street in the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas, from the West boundary of Maple Street to the
zast boundary of Peyton Street, including all intersections
except Pine street, Cedar Street, and that portion o f Lewis
StreEt occupied by the Capitol Transportation Company,
in such manner and with such materials as theBoard of Improvement
of said district may deem for the best interests of the district,
subject to the approval of the City Engineer.
Said district shall be known as Street Improvement District
No. 558; and P. L. Butler, A. C. Willms, and W. M. Harding are here-
by named commissioners, who shall compose the hoard of Improvement
for said district.
Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage; and all Ordinances inc onflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
