ORDINANCE NO. 626+.
AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF ONE HUNDRED TWENTY FIVE
DOLLARS ($125.00) PER MONTH TO BE PAID INTO THE PULASKI COUNTY
DEFENSE COUNCIL FUND, AND FOR OTHER.PURPOSES.
WHEREAS; various persons and agencies in the City of
Little Rock are desirous of creating a Pulaski County Defense
Council Fund which will be utilized by the Chairman of the
ANdiski 'County Defense Council in the payment of salaries
expenses incurred in an effort to attract to'and. secure for
Little Rock new and desirable industries and projects, and
WHEREAS, other persons and agencies have agreed to prescribe
Seven Hundred Nine Dollars ($7 09.00) a month, and
WHEREAS, this is a worthy undertaking which is entitld\d to
the support of the City Government of Little Rock,'Arkansas•
NOW THEREFORE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK,.ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The sum of One Hundred Twenty Five Dollars ($125.00)
per month is hereby appropriated to be paid into the Pulaski
County Defense Council Fund to be expended out of said fund as
the other moneys are expended out of said fund. This appropriation
of One Hundred Twenty Five Dollars (4125.00) is conditioned on
the fund receiving from other sources the total of not less than
Seven Hundred Nine Dollars ($709.00) per month; in the event that
in any given month the Pulaski County Defense Council Fund should
receive from other sources other than the City of Little Rock
less than Seven Hundred Nine Dollars (4709.00), the contribution
of the city shall be in proportion to the amount actually paid
into the fund as One Hundred Twenty Five Dollars ($125.00) is
to Eight Hundred Thirty Four Dollars ($834.00).
Section $. The payments to be-made under this ordinance
shall be made ens follows: first payment on the last day of
July, 1941, and a payment on the last day of each succeeding
month thereafter as set out in Section 1 of this ordinance; the
last payment to be made on December 31, 1941.

Section 3. The sums of money appropriated under this
ordinance shall be paid out of the general funds of the city
of Little Rock, and the Yayor and the City Clerk are hereby
authorized to issue the warrant of the city for said purposes.
Section 4. WHEREAS, the securing for the City of Little
Rook of new sources`, Cif 'employment and the attracting-
Rock the investments of new capital is a-matter of prime concern
to the entire citizenry of Little Rock, NOW THEREFORE, an
emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall
be in full force and effect from and after its passage and
approval.
