WHEREAS, more than two - thirds majority in value of the
property holders owning property adjoining the locality to be
affected and situated in Street Improvement District Number 556,
organized for the purpose of grading, curbing, guttering and
paving:
West Eleventh Street, from the center of Lewis
Street to the center of Washington Street,
in Little Rock, Arkansas, have petitioned the Council of the City
of Little Rock for the construction of said improvement and that
the cost thereof shall be assessed upon the real property of said
district according to the benefits received; and,
WHEREAS said benefits received by each and every block,
lot and parcel of real property situated in said district equals
or exceeds the local assessment thereon; and,
WHEREAS the estimated cost of said improvement is Four
Thousand Seven Hundred Forty -Six and No /100 Dollars ($4,746.00),
exclusive of interest on bonds, and exclusive of any aid by an
agency of the United States government;
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, By the City Council of the
City of Little Rock, Arkansas:
SECTION 1. That said several blocks, lots and parcels
of real property in said district be assessed according to the
assessment list for said improvement district as the same now re-
mains in the office of the City Clerk, and that ten per centum
(10 %) of the assessments on each of said blocks, lots and parcels
shall be paid annually on or before the second day of March
until the whole of said several assessments shall be paid.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage.
