FIXING A PET,ALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE,
DECLARING AN EMERGE CY, AND FOB OTHER PURPOSES.
BE iT ORDA10ED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE I;OCX, 1REANSAS:
Section 1. Definition. .Trade school is defined to
mean any school or place of instruction or course of instruct-
ion not financed in a whole or in part oy the state or feder-
al government or any agency thereof, which for pay is devoted
primarily to teaching or instructing other persons in one
of the manual trades or mechanical arts.
Section 2. A tax. of Fifty Dollars (w,50.00) per
annum for each calendar year is hereby levied on any person,
firm or corporation conducting or offering to conduct a
trade school within the City of Little hock.
Section 3. tiny person, firm or corporation conducting
or offering to conduct a trade school without having first
paid the privilege tax levied in Section 2 of this ordinance
shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction in the
Little hock 1,,uni6ipa1 Court shall be fined in any sum not
less than Twenty rive Dollars (4;25.00) nor more than One
Hundred Dollars (:100.00). Each day that such school is
conducted or such person, firm or corporation offers to con-
duct it without havinZ first ;.;aid the rivilege tax levied
under this privilege tax shall constitute a separate violation,
and such person, firm or corporation shall be punished accord-
ingly.
Section 4. The efficient regulation of all types of
schools and particularly of trade schools being a matter of
special concern in this time of national emergency and being
vitally connected with'the public peace, health and safety, an
emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this ordinance shall
be in full force and effect from and after its passage and
approval.
