6440ORDINANCE N0. AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 4 OF ORDINANCE NO. 4237 AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. BE IT 01MAINED BY TEE CITY COUI4CIL OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: Section 1. Section 4 of Ordinance No. 4237 shall read as followst The storage room shall be of adequate size with minimum measurements i of 16 feet in length and 16 Feet in breadth, with ceiling a minimum feet from the floor „tivith water service to. arranged an—to -pawtt flushing and cleaning; the walls, partitions and ceiling of said room shall be smooth and painted white. It shall also be equipped with overhead trolleys and trackage, connected with the killing room or department, and same shall be sufficient in height and capacity to permit all animals slaughtered to be hung from the trolleys, and no animal or portion of same shall be placed on the floor, or permitted to rest thereon. Sawdust on floors shall not be permitted in the storage room. It shall be constantly refrigerated to a temperature not to exceed 400F. This shall not apply to farmers slaughtering animals on the farm actually raised by them, provided the number slaughtered does not exceed 10 per month for any calendar month. All establishments that clean, de -fat, or save casings shall have a separate casing room of adequate size, with tight impervious floor, well lighted and ventilat- ed and with proper floor drainage, and all offal except that retained for inspection shall be immediately removed from the killing room to the casing room. SECTION II. WHEREAS, this Ordinance is necessary for the protection of the health of the citizens of Little Rock, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this Ordinance is found to be necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, and safety, and the same shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
