ORDINANCE NO. 6500
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE RATE OF TAXATION OF PROPERTY FOR CITY
PURPOSES FOR THE YEAR 1942-FOR VARIOUS FUNDS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCX; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY CO UN CI L OF THE CITY OF LITTLE RO CK ,
ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That the rate of taxation on real and personal
jaw"rty in the City of Little . Rook for oertain City - purposes for
the year 1942, be and the same is hereby fixed and established and
levied as follows:
For General purposes in order to carry on the affairs of
the City Government under Section 41 Article 12, of the
Constitution of 1674, there is hereby levied a tax of Five
(5) mills.
For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the City
of Little Rock as may be required in the Funding Bond issue
of May let, 1925, and refunding issue of November 1st, 1935,
and refunding issue of November let, 1935, a tax of three
(3) mills for the year 1942 is hereby levied; and Ordinance
No. 3799 is hereby amended only insofar as to apply to levy
for the year 19420
For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the City of
Little Rock as may be required in the Airport, Fire Equipment
and Hospital Annex Bond issue of November 1st,, 1929j, a tax
of Twenty -five Hundredths (.25) of a mill for the year 1,9142-
Is hereby levied.
For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the City of
Little Rook as may be required in the Municipal Auditorium
Bond issue of February let, 1937, a tax of Thirty Hundredths
(.30) of a mill for the year 1942 is hereby levied; and
Ordinance No. 5509 is hereby amended only insofar as to
apply to levy for the year 1942.
For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the City of
Little Rook as may be required in the Library Annex Bond
Issue of February is t , 19 7 , a tax of Ten Hundredths (.10)
of a mill for the year 1942 is hereby levied.
For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the City of
Little Rock as may be required -in the Negro lark Bond issue
of February let., 193 7 , a tax of Five Hundredths (.05) of a
mill for the year 1942 . is hereby levied.
To-r the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the City of
Little Rock as may be required in the Fire Department
Construction Bond issue of May is t , 1,940 ( first issue) , a
F tax of Ten Hundredths (.10) of a mill for the year 1942 is
r hereby levied, and Ordinance No. 5S is hereby amended _only
r insofar as to apply to levy for the year 1942.

(.70) of a mill for the year 1942 is hereby levied.

For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the City of
Little Rook as may be required in the Auditorium Equipment
Bond issue of May lst, 1940, a tax of Thirty Hundredths (.30)
of a mill for the year 1942 is hereby levied.
For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the City of
Little Rock as may be required in the Airport Construction
Bond (Second) issue of October lat., 1940, a tax of Forty
Hundredths (.40) of a mill for the year 1942 is hereby levied.
For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the City of

Bond issue of October let, 1940, a tax of Ten Hundredths
(.10) of a mill for the year 1942 is hereby levied.
For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the City of
Little Rook as may be required in the Fire Department
Construe tion Bond issue of March 1, 1941 ( second Issue), a
tax of Twenty Hundredths (. 20) of a mill for the year 1942
Is hereby levied.
For the purpose of paying Firemen's Pensions, in accordance
with the provisions of Amendment No. 31 to the Constitution
of the State of Arkansas, adopted November 5. 1940, and Act
14 of the Acts of the General Assembly of the State of
Arkansas for the year 1941, a tax of One -half () mill fo r
the year 1942 is hereby levied.
For the purpose of paying Policemen's Pensions, in accordance
with the provisions of Amendment No. 31 to the. Constitution
of the State of Arkansas, adopted November 5, 1940, and Act 16
of the Acts of the General Assembl of the State of Arkansas
` for the .year 1941, a tax of one (lT mill for the year 1 2
Is hereby levied.
For the purpose of maintaining the City Library, in accordance
with the provisions of an amendment to the Constitution of
the State of Ark$nsas, adopted November 5, 1940, a tax of
One (1) mill for the year 1942 is hereby levied.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to transmit
a certified copy of this ordinance to the County Clerk of Pulaski
County to the end that the taxes herein recited may be extended on
the tax books of. Pulaski County and collected with the other taxes
f or the year 1942.
S$CTZON 3. Action under the terms of this ordinance is
immedis t ely necessary if the public health pro gram , policy and
protection be not seriously curtailed, and as such curtailment would
result in endangering the health, lives and property of the citizens
of Little Rock, therefore an emergency is hereby declared to exist
and this ordinance shall take effect and be in for as from and after
the date of its passage.
