AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE CARRYING OF CONCEALED 7E.APONS, FIXING A
PENALTY THEREFOR;, DECLARING AN XIERGIaXY AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED B THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. Any person who shall wear or carry in any manner
I whatever, as a weapon, any kirk, or bowie knife or sword or spear in a
1 ins, brass, or Metal ltnuck o'' razor, blackjack, billie, or sap,. ice-
pick, or any pistol of any kind whatever, shall be guilty of a mis-
demeanor, and shall be punished by a fine of not less than $50.00
nor more than $200.00 for each offense.
SECTION 2. Provided, nothing in this act shall be so
construed as to prohibit any person from carrying such pistols as are
used in the army or navy of the United States when carried uncovered
and in the hand., provided, officers whose duties require them to make
arrests, or to keep and guard prisoners, together with persons summoned
by such officers to aid them in the discharge of such duties, while
actually engaged in such duties, are exempt from the provisions of
this act. Provided.further, nothing in this act shall be so construed
as to prohibit any person from carrying any weapon when upon a journey
or upon his premises.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall not interfere with nor
restrict the exceptions and regulations mentioned in the state statute
on this subject.
SECTION 4. Ordinance 620 of the ordinances of the City of
Little Rock, Arkansas, is being amended to conform to the foregoing
provisions.
SEOTICK, 5. The control and suppression of crime and crimes
of violence being vital to the public peace, health and safety, an
emergency is hereby declared to exist; and this ordina shall be in
full force and effect from and after its pass e.
