6536ORDINANCE NO. 6536 AN ORDINANCE FIXING A PRIVILEGE TAX ON MOTOR VEHICLES TRAVELING THE STRA'1'S OF THE CITY OF LI'T'TLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, WHEN 711E SIDES OF SUCH VEHICLES ARE USED FOR CWMCIAL ADVERTISING PURPOSES, DECLARING AN BMG&CY, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. BE IT ORDA ZED BY THE CITY COTXCIL OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS. SECTION 1. The use of the sides of motor vehicles traveling the streets of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, for the purpose of advertising for hire of a product or business other than that of the person, firm, individual, or corporation operating the vehicle is hereby declared to be a privilege. SECTION 2. Any person, firm, individual, or corporation who shall engaged in, carry on, or follow the business of operating motor vehicles over the streets of the City of Little Rock and using I the sides of said vehicles to advertise for hire any product or business other than that of the person, firm, individual or corporation operating the vehicle shall obtain a license from the City Collect9rcbefore engaging in such business. SECTION 3. The City $1>11setor shall issue the license mentioned in section 2 of this ordinance to such person, firm, individual, or corporation on payment of $12.50 for each vehicle so operated, such licenses to be issued in advance and such licenses to expire on December 31ist of each year. In the event that application for such license is made on or after July 1st of any year, the City Collector shall issue such license on receipt of $6.25 for each motor vehicle operated for such purposes by the applicant. In the application for such license, the applicant shall give the number of vehicles operated and shall adequately describe each. vehicle so operated and shall give the motor number of each of such vehicles. SECTION 4. Any person, firm, individual, or corporation operating motor vehicles over the streets of Little Rock and using the sides of said vehicles for advertising any product or business other than that of the person, firm, individual or corporation operating the vehicle without first securing a license from the City Collector therefore shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall { be fined in any sUM 441.1A, h'n Q� �� tae . �►�z4 0 , , :.�� �.:. imprisoned not less than five days nor more than 30 days or both. Each day that such operation continues without a license therefork shall constitute a separate offense. SECTION 5. The regulation of the streets of the City of Little Rock and the procuring of revenue for carrying on the general purposes of the city of Little Rock being vital to the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage.
