AN ORDINANCE CREATING TWO POSITIONS OF HELPERS AT THE CITY
POUND, FIXING THE SALARY, DECLARING AN EMERGENCY,AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. There are hereby created two (2) positions
of Helper at the City Pound, who shall assist and be responsible
to the Pound Master, and who shall be employees of the City
Health Department.
SECTION 2. The persons to fill the positions created
by Section 1 of this ordinance shall be chosen by the Civil
Service Commission in a manner provided by law and shall
each receive a salary of $100.00 per month.
SECTION 3. The employment authorized under this
ordinance shall continue during the period of the duration
of the present war in which the United States of America
is engaged and for a period of six months following the
termination of said war.
SECTION 4. The control of dogs throughout the City
of Little Rock being vital to the public peace, health and
safety, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this
ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
its passage.
