AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE BOARD OF PUBLIC
AFFAIRS TO ENTER INTO VARIOUS CONTRACTS FOR THE REPAIR OF
THE PAVILION IN BOYLE PAT.K; FOR PAINTING AND REPAIRING
CERTAIN BUILDINGS IN THE ZOO; AND MAXING CERTAIN ADDITIONS
AND IMPROVEMENTS TO BUILDINGS IN FAIR PARK; DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The Board of Public Affairs is hereby
authorized and directed to enter into a contract or contracts,
in the manner provided by law, to accomplish the following
purposes:
1. A contract to reroof with wooden shingles the
Pavilion in Boyle Park.
2. To paint the woodwork and repair or replace
the roof, as may be needed, on all the buildings
in the Zoo area except the tin stable and the
movable concession building; and repair the
doors and windows in said buildings, including
installation of glass where needed.
3. To reroof and repaint that certain building
immediately west of the swimming pool in Fair
Park (now being used as a store room) and to
convert it into a Rest Room and toilet for
the convenience of the patrons of Fair Park.
SECTION 2. The maintenance of adequate facilities
for recreation for the citizens of Little Rock being vital
to the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is hereby
declared to exist, and this ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage.
