AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE POSITION OF `'CHIEF INSPECTOR IN THE HEALTH DEPARVIENT,
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, AITD FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The position of "Chief Inspector" in the Health Department
of the City of Little Rock,, Arkansas, is hereby created.

of this ordinance shall be chosen by the Civil Service Commission, in the manner
pr,_; Aed by law, and shall receive a salary from the City of Little Rock, Arkansas,
of 5.00 per month.
SECTION 3. The duties of the person chosen to fill the position created
by Section 1 of this ordinance shall be to make inspections and to supervise
inspections of conditions and situations, both public and private, that require
supervision in the maintenance of the public health in the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas, and he shall di scharge such other duties as the City Health Officer may
prescribe. Such person shall. be directly answerable and immediately subordinate
to the C ity H eal th Off i c er.
SECTION 4. The position created by this ordinance shall—be terminated `
upon the return to active duty of the Sanitary Engineer or at the time the position
of Sanitary Engineer is actively filled.
SECTION 5. 11MMEAS, at the present time the functions prescribed by this
ordinance for the Chief Inspector are not being discharged by the City of Little
Rock, and
4 "d,REAS, the lack of the discharge of such functions is hereby found
to be detrimental to the public health, an emergency is hereby declared to exist
and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage.
