AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING *150.00 OUT OF THE GENERAL FUNDS FOR
USE BY THE VICE SQUAD OF THE DETECTIVE BUREAU, PROVIDING THE
MANNER OF PAYMENT, DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The sum of $150.00 is hereby appropriated out
of the general funds of the City of Little Rook, Arkansas,

#sid sum, to be paid to the Chief of _.the De;tectivs.,Burea, ° -:
use by the Vice Squad of the Detective Bureau, at the rate of
$50.00 per month in the months of October, November and December,
1943, payment to be on or about the tenth day of each month.
SECTION 2. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized
and directed to issue the warrants of the City for the mentioned
amounts as set out in section 1 of this ordinance.
SECTION 3. Because the Vice Squad of the Detective Bureau
is unable to prosecute its functions effectively due to-the
lack of funds and because there is danger that a condition of
immorality and criminal violence may, be allowed to flourish

thereby, an emergency is found and declared to exist; and this
ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public

Peace, health and safety, shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage.
