PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock has heretofore leased the
Arkansas Valley Compress and '`Warehouse Company certain lands in Adams
Field as shown by a lease recorded November 14, 1932 in Book 247,
Page 460 of the records in the office of the Circuit Clerk and RecordexY 1
for Pulaski County, Arkansas, and
'REAS, the Arkansas Valley Compress and '.+ arehouse Company is
releasing to the United States of Arierica any interest they may possess
in and to the north seventy -two and thirty -three one- hundredth feet
(72 &33100 feet) thereof, and
HEREAS, this release is done at the recuest of the City of Little
Rock and in cooperation with the City of Little Rock for the improve-
ment of the Municipal Airport
BE IT OdDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK, A21"ANSAS:
SECTION 1. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authori4ed and
directed to enter into an agreement and contract with the Arkansas
Valley Compress and 11"arehouse Company, 1whereby the City undertakes,
in the event that the lands released by the Arkansas Valley Compress
and " arehouse Company, as set out above, are returned to the City of
Little Rock so that the City may lease same during the remainder of
the term of the lease set forth above ibr any renewal thereof, to
revive any interest now held by the Arkansas Valley Compress and
"Jarehouse Company in and to the lands released to the United States
of America.
SXCTION 2. This agreement shall be for and In consideratiourof
the release by the Arkansas Valley Compress and 71arehouse Company of
said lands to the United States of America; for and in consideration of
one dollar .($1.00) cash in hand paid to the City of Little Rock,-and
for aril in consideration of the cooperation of the Arkansas Valley
Compress and iarehouse Company in making available these lands to the
United States of America; and except as to the land to be released,
as above described, said lease shall continue in full force and effect,
subject to the reservations made in the City's deed thereto.,

SECTION 3. Because the acquisition by the United States of
America of these lands is necessary to the growth and expansion of
Adams Field and because the failure to obtain the release of the
lands described above could hamper the expansion of the Municipal
Airport and because this release materially facilitates the capacity
to improve Adams Field, an emergency is hereby declared to exist
and this Ordinance, being necessary for the public peace,health and
safety, shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage.
