6643ORDINANCE NO. 66+3 AN ORDINANCE -REQUIRING THE APPROVAL OF THE FIRE CHIEF FOR BUILDING PERMIT; AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 4866; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. No building permit shall be issued by the Building Commissioner or out of the office of the City Engineer until and unless the application for said building permit has been presented to the Chief of the Fire Department and approved by the Chief of the Fire, De arttasn uhe duty of the "Al l al or other City official receiving the application for a build3n ' perxi.t .' to present same to the Chief of the Fire Department, who shall examine the application within a reasonable time. If the Chief of the Fire Department finds no objection to same, and it appears that-the proposed work will comply with the fire laws• and ordinanoes applicable thereto., and the proposed oonstruction or work will be safe from the standpo-int of fire hazard, the Chief of the Fire Department shall approve the-ap- plication for the proposed work as soon as may be pr.aoticable. If his examination reveals otherwise, the Chief of the Fire Departm x:t,,,' l .. refuse to approve the application. 494 ter., SECTION 3. The requirement of action by the Chief of the Fires''., Department under this ordinance is intended to be cumulative of the other requirements for obtaining a building permit and is not intended to supplant the functions of any other City official.
