AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE BOARD OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS TO
PURCHASE AN ASPHALT DISTRIBUTOR; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS
SECTION 1. The Board of Public Affairs is hereby authorized and
directed to purchase in the manner provided by law the following:

be mounted on a one and one -half ton, long wheel base
truck, at a cost not to exceed'Four Thousand Dollars
($4,000.00).
SECTION 29 The asphalt distributor mentioned in Section 1 of
this ordinance sharll, when purchased, be used by the Street Department
in-conjunction with the maintenance of asphalt streets in the City of
Little Rock, Arkansas.
SECTION 3. Because the City of Little Rock has many asphalt streets
which need constant attention in order to preserve them; and because the
City of Little Rock now has no adequate asphalt distributor for the
purpose of preserving the city streets; and because the purchase of
such distributor will preserve the streets efficiently and economically
and improve the city's transportation facilities; and because this
asphalt distributor is urgently needed at the present time to prevent
further deterioration of the city streets, an emergency is hereby
declared to exist, and this ordinance, being necessary for the preser-
vation of the public peace, health and safety, shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage.
