AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE BOARD OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS TO PURCHASE
SIX MOTORCYCLES FOR THE LITTLE ROCK POLICE DEPARTMENT; DECLAR-
ING AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The Board of Public Affairs is hereby authorized
and directed to purchase in the manner provided by law, the follow-
ing equipment for use by the Little Rock Police Department:
6 Motorcycles appropriate for use in the Police
Department.
SECTION 2. Because the Little Rock Police Department at the
present time needs additional motorcycles in order to safeguard
and protect the citizens of Little Rock; and because without said
motorcycles the Police Department at the present time is not able
to give the maximum protection to the citizens of Little Rock,
an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this ordinance being
necessary for the public peace, health and safety, shall be in
full force and effect from and after its passage.
