AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE SALARY OF THE CITY ELECTRICIAN; DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The salary of the City Electrician is hereby
fixed at 3300.00 per month, effective ,ks 9f, and after October
1, 1944.
SECTION 2. Because the present salary of the City Electri-
_.cian is inadequate for the services performed and to be performed;
and because the present inadequate salary exposes the City to
the danger of losing the services of the City Electrician, to
the detriment of the various essential functions of the City;
and because the salary fixed in Section 1 of this Ordinance will
enable the City to retain a competent City Electrician; and be-
cause the salary fixed in Section 1 of this Ordinance is commen-
surate with the duties of the position and with the salary paid
by private business for similar services, an emergency is hereby
declared to exist, and this Ordinance, being necessary for the
public peace, health and safety, shall be in full force and
effect immediately upon its passage.
