AN ORDINANCE DIRECTING THE PURCHASE OF A STORAGE TANK FOR USE BY
THE STREET DEPARTMENT; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PUR-
POSES.
WHEREAS, the Virginia- Carolina Chemical Corporation has offered
to sell to the City of Little Rook for $350x00, one 15,000 gallon
steel storage tank, and
WHEREAS, this tank is needed by the Street Department for the
storing of asphalt, now therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City hereby accepts the offer of the Virginia-
Carolina Chemical Corporation to sell to the City of Little Rook
for $350900, one 15,000 gallon steel storage tank. Delivery of
said tank will be accepted on the premises of the Virginia-Carolina
Chemical 'Corporation in North Little Rook, Arkansas. Upon delivery
of said tank the City of Little Rock hereby agrees and binds itself
to pay on or before the 10th day of the month following delivery,
the sum of $350.00. As a part of the contract of purchase, it is
t agreed that it will be the responsibility of the City of Little Hock
to dismantle, load and haul this said tank from the place of delivery
in North Little Rock to the City Material Yard.. The tank; when
assembled in the City Material Yard, shall be used by the Street
Department for the storage of asphalt.
SECTION 29 Because the present storage facilities for asphalt
used on the streets of Little Rook are inadequate, and new and ade-
quate storage facilities are needed for the repair and maintenance
of the City streets; and because the acquisition of the storage
tank described in Section 1 of this Ordinance will correct this
situation, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this Ordinance
Cbeing necessary for the public peace, health and safety, shall be
i in full force and effect immediately upon its passage.
