AN ORDINANCE ABOLISHING THE POSITION OF CLERK STENOGRAPHER IN THE
CITY COLLECTOR'S OFFICE AND CREATING THE POSITION OF SECRETARY IN
SAID OFFICE; FIXING THE SALARY THEREFOR; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION l.'The position of Clerk Stenographer in the City
„'4011x- atoms Office is hereby abolished.
SECTION 2. The position of Secretary in the City Collector's
Office is hereby created; the person to fill the position of Seore-
tary in the City Collector's Office shall be chosen by the Civil
Service Commission in the manner provided by law, and shall receive
a salary of $13 7950 per month, to be paid as other City employees
are paid.
SECTION 3. The duties of the position of Secretary in the
City Collector's Office shall be to prepare and conduct correspon-
dence at the direction of the City Collector, to file any corres-
pondence or other papers as directed by the City Collector, and to
perform such other duties as the City Collector may assign.
SECTION 49 Because at the present time there is no person
available in the City Collector's Office to discharge the duties
assigned to the Secretary mentioned above; and because the work of
the City Collector's Office is impaired through this lacks and
because it is important that a Secretary be employed at the earli-
est opportunity for the maximum efficiency of the City Collector's
Office, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this Ordinance
being necessary for the public peace, health and safety, shall be
in full force and effect immediately upon its passage.
