AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE SALARY OF THE PART TIME MAID
IN THE LABORATORY IN THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT; DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS:

SECTION 1. The salary paid by the City of Little
Rock to the part time maid in the laboratory of the Little
Rock Health Department, is hereby fixed at $35.00 per
month, payable as other salaries are paid to City
employees.
SECTION 2. The salary fixed in Section 1 of this
ordinance shall be effective as of, and after December 1,
1944.
SECTION 3. Because the salary heretofore paid to
the part time maid has been inadequate, and the Health
Department is exposed to the danger of loss of employees
and diminished efficiency thereby, and because the above
salary will remedy this condition, an emergency is hereby
declared to exist; and this ordinance, being necessary for
the preservation of the public peace, health and safety,
shall be in full force and effect, according to its terms,
from and after its passage.
