AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION TO EMPLOY
A DRAFTSMAN; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS=
SECTION 1. The City Planning Commission is hereby
authorized to employ a draftsman for a period of a total of
6 months at a salary, of $200.0.0 a,monthe The employment
authorized under this ordinance need not be for 18 consecutive
months, but shall be for a total of 18 months in all.
SECTION 29 Ordinance No. 6633 is hereby amended to con-
form to the provisions of Section 1 of this ordinance.
SECTION 39 It is the intention of this ordinance to
increase the salary of the draftsman mentioned in Section 1 of
Ordinance No. 6633 and this ordinance does not create a position
of employment in addition to the employment created in Ordinance
No. 6633 of the Ordinances of the City of Little Rock*
SECTION 4. Because the services of a draftsman cannot
be obtained for the salary now authorized under Ordinance No.
6633; and because the services of a draftsman are essential
to the functioning of the City Planning Commission and to the
making of adequate plans for the growth and development of the
City of Little Rook; and because the City Council finds that
the immediate preparation of such plans is of vital importance
to the citizens of Little Rock, an emergency is hereby declared
to exist and this ordinance being necessary for the preservation
of the public peace, health and safety, shall be in full force
and effect immediately upon its passage.
