AN ORDINANCE FIXING RATES FOR AIRPORT LIMOUSINE SERVICE; REQUIRING A
BOND; FIXING A TAX ON AIRPORT LIMOUSINE SERVICE; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSASx
SECTION 1. "Airport limousine service" is hereby defined to be the
furnishing of limousine service- between the Municipal Airport.and any

"Limousine service"` is hereby defined to be transportation service
over the streets of Little Rock in a type of automobile commonly referred

to as limousine and having a manufacturer's seating capacity of^sevek
persons including 'the driver.
SECTION 29 No person, firm or corporation engaged in airport limou-
sine service shall receive passengers at any point except the Municipal
Airport or some hotel or public carrier terminal in Little Rock, Arkansas.
SECTION S. It is hereby declared to be a privilege for any person,
firm or corporation to furnish airport limousine service and no person,
firm or corporation shall engage in such undertaking without first pay -
ng to the City Collector an annual privilege tax of fifty dollars
( #50.00) for the privilege of engaging in such business or trade, and
without paying in addition fifty dollars ( #50.00) annually for each
passenger vehicle used on the streets of Little Rock in furnishing such
airport limousine service.
SECTION 49 Any person, firm or corporation furnishing airport
limousine service shall charge as fare for such service an amount not
to exceed sixty cents per person transported on any one trip.
BUTION 5. No person, firm or corporation shall furnish airport
3ise isime service unless and until such person, firm or corpprpat#4%
shall have furnished and shall have filed with the City Collector of
Little Rock, Arkansas, an insurance policy written by an insurance
eoupany approved by the City Collector, which policy shall bind the

insurance company writing same to indemnify up to the amount of
$5,000.00 any person, firm or corporation suffering any personal
injury or property damage from the negligent or otherwise faulty

operation of such airport limousine service.
Provided, however, that in lieu of furnishing said insurance

policy, a person, firm -er corporation operating airport limousine
service may give to the ,City Collector a statement or other satis-
factory assurance that there has been deposited in any Little Rook
bank the sum of $5,.000.00 in cash which shall be available at all
i times for the payment of any damages lawfully assessed against any
such person, firm or corporation from the operation of the airport
limousine service.
SECTION 6. It is hereby declared to be a misdemeanor for any
j person, firm or corporation to violate any of the provisions of this
ordinance and such violations shall, on conviction, be punishable
by a fine of not less than $5.00 and not more than $250900 or im-
prisonment for not less than one day and not more than 30 days, or
bath fined and imprisoned.
SECTION 79 Because adequate transportation service between the
Little Rook Municipal Airport and other points in Little Rook is
lacking and urgently needed at the present time, and because this
ordinance will assist in making such service available; and because
there is great danger of loss and injury to the citizens of Little
Rook unless and until airport limousine service shall give adequate
assurance of financial ability to meet any damages that may be
occasioned from its operation; and because this ordinance is found to
be essential for the preservation of the public peace, health and
safety, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance
i shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage.
