AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF MISCELLANEOUS LUMBER AND
BARRICADE FLARES, AND MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS FOR THE STREET DEPART-
MENT; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Engineer is hereby directed to purchase on
behalf of the City of Little Rock from the United States Treasury
Department, the following items for use on the streets of Little
Rock:
160 Street Barricades and Frames, completes
1 Shed 24 feet by 60 feet,
1 Redwood later Tank knocked down,
5000 Board feet of lumber, miscellaneous sizes,
170 Bomb type Barricade Flares.
Upon such purchase by the City Engineer, the City obligates
itself to pay the sum of three hundred and eighty dollars ($380.00)
therefor.
SECTION 2. The layor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and
directed to issue the warrant of the City payable to the United
States Treasury Department in the sum of three hundred and eighty
dollars ($380.00) and drawn on the street or auto funds and shall
deliver said warrant in payment of the items mentioned in Section 1
of this ordinance.
SECTION 3. Because the equipment mentioned in Section 1 of this
ordinance is needed immediately for the preservation, maintenance
and construction of streets in the City of Little Rock, and because
without such equipment there is present danger that the City streets
may deteriorate to the detriment of the citizens of Little Rock
and their property, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this
ordinance is found to be necessary for the preservation of the public
peace, health and safety and shall be in full f orce and effect from
and after its passage.
