ORDINANCE N0. 6840.
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE RATE OF TAXATION OF PROPERTY FOR
CITY PURPOSES FOR THE YEAR 194 FOR VARIOUS FUNDS OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That the rate of taxation on real and
personal property in the City of Little Rock for certain City

purposes for the year 19459 be and the same is hereby fixed and
established and levied as follows:
For General purposes in order to carry on the affairs of
the City Government under Section 4, Article 12, of the
Constitution of 1874, there is hereby levied a tax of Five
' (5) mills-
For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the City
of Little Rock as may be required in the Funding Bond
issue of May lot, 1925, and refunding issue of November
1st, 19359 and refunding issue of November lot, 1938, a
tax of three (3) mills for the year 1945 is hereby levied;
and Ordinance No. 3789 is hereby amended only insofar as
to apply to levy for the year 1945-
For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the City
of Little Rock as may be required in the Airport, Fire
Equipment and Hospital Annex Bond issue of November lat.,
1929, a tax of Ninety Hundredths (.90) of a mill for the
year 1945 is hereby levied.
For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the City
of Little Rock as may be required in the Municipal
Municipal
Auditorium Bond issue of February let, 1937, and
Auditorium 2,% Refunding Bond issue of August 1, 1945, a
tax of One (1) mill for the year 1945 is hereby levied;
and Ordinance No. 5509 and Ordinance No. 6813 are hereby
amended only insofar as to apply to levy for the year 1945-

Bond issue of February lst, 1937,
(.05) of a mill for the year 1945 is hereby levied.
For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the City
of Little Rock as may be required in the Negro Park Bond

issue_ of February lot, 1937, a tax of Five Hundredths (.05)
of a mill for the year 1945 is hereby levied.
For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the City of
Little Rock as may be required in the 1 *,% Airport Refunding
Bond issue of March 1, 1945, a tax of One and Twenty
Hundredths (1.20) mills for the year 1945 is hereby levied,
and Ordinance No. 6762 is hereby amended only insofar as
to apply to levy for the year 1945-
For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the City
of Little Rook as may be required in the Fair Park Improve-
ment Bond Issue of October lst, 1940, a tax of Ten Hundredths
(.10) of a mill for the year 1945 is hereby levied.

For the purpose of paying Bonds and Interest of the City
of Little Rock as may be required in the Fire Department
Construction Bond issue of March 1, 1941 (second issue),
a tax of Ten Hundredths (.10) of a mill for the year
1945 is hereby levied.
For the purpose of paying Firemen's Pensions, in accord-
ance with the provisions of Amendment No. 31 to the
Constitution of the State of Arkansas, adopted November
59 1940, and Act 14 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of the State of Arkansas for the year 1941 and the acts
amendatory thereto, a tax of Fifty Hundredths (.50) of a
mill for the year 1945 is hereby levied.
For the purpose of paying Policemen's Pensions, in
accordance with the provisions of Amendment No. 31 to the
Constitution of the State of Arkansas, adopted November
59 1940, and Act 16 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of the State of Arkansas for the year 1941 and the acts
amendatory thereto, a tax of Eighty Hundredths (.80) of a
mill for the year 1945 is hereby levied.
For the purpose of maintaining the City Library, in
accordance with the provisions of an amendment to the
Constitution of the State of Arkansas, adopted November
5, 1940, a tax of One (1) mill for the year 1945 is here-
by levied.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to
transmit a certified copy of this ordinance to the County Clerk
of Pulaski County to the end that the taxes herein recited may
be extended on the tax books of Pulaski County and collected
with the other taxes for the year 1945-
SECTION 3. Action under the terms of this ordinance
is immediately necessary if the public health program, policy
and protection be not seriously curtailed, and as such curtail-
ment would result in endangering the health, lives and property
of the citizens of Little Rock, therefore an emergency is here-
by declared to exist and this ordinance shall take effect and
be in force from and after the date of its passage.
