AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING CERTAIN PHYSICAL EXAMINATIONS OF
HANDLERS OF FOOD AND DRINK PREPARED FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION,
PROVIDING PENALTY FOR VIOLATION, DECLARING AN EMERGENCY,
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
g BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:

SECTION 1. Hereafter, no person employed for wages as
handlers of food.and drink prepared for human consumption shall

or continue' such employment vrithout first obtaining
from the City Health Officer, a health certifioate. "Pages"
is defined to be money or anything of value.
SECTION 2e Said health certificate shall die effective
only for the period of time indicated on the certificate itself,
and it shall be issued by the City Health Officer only when the
applicant therefor has passed, to the satisfaction of the City
Healt h Officer, an examination for Venereal and other communi-
cable diseases, including Tuberculosis..
SECTION 3. The examination for Tuberculosis shall be made
by X -Ray of the chest by any competent Roentgenologist provided
h`oxevor t` e►t the. City Health Officer is empowered, in, his
discretion to require an X -Ray examination by a Roentgenologist
of the City Health Officerts own choosing. The examination for
Venereal and other communicable diseases shall be by tests as
the City Health Officer may from time to time prescribe.
SECTION 4. ' The examination for Tuberculosis shall be
conducted not less often than annually, and the examination for
Venereal and other communicable diseases shall be conducted
at least as often as every six months.

ny person to violate Secti'bn 1 of this Ordinance and any person
found guilty of violating Section 1 shall be fined not less than

SECTION 6. The employers of handlers of food or drink prepared
for human consumption are required to keep possession of the handler's

certificate while the person or persons to whom same is issued
remains in their employment, and it is hereby declared to be
a misdemeanor for any person, firm or corporation employing
a handler of food or drink prepared for human consumption to
